The Mission

 There are SO many patients with limited mobility, emotional limitations, cognitive decline and other conditions who need a house call dentist, but they can't find one!  The world needs more dentists on the ground who own their own dental house call practice.  That's why I want you to join the ResiDENTAL Movement.  Don't worry, house call dentistry isn't only great for patients.  It's great for dentists, too!  Owning a dental house call practice offers a rewarding clinical career and gives you the opportunity to enjoy an entirely different lifestyle.

My Story

During my hospital-based residency, I wondered who was going to follow up with my medically-complex patients once they were discharged because I knew that they certainly wouldn't be able to leave home.  Around that same time, my own sister told me that struggled to navigate the dental office in her wheelchair.  I was noticing a huge unmet need for dental house calls in my community, so I started my dental house call practice, AccommoDental.  My practice started as a side-hustle and grew into my full-time practice.  Since then, it's also been a part-time practice after I started my family and as my interest in formally teaching grew.  Part of the beauty of owning a house call practice is having the ability to adjust your clinical schedule during different stages of life.  

 

​Since starting my dental house call practice, I've felt like the luckiest dentist on the planet.  I get to visit wonderful, appreciative patients who haven't been able to access care for YEARS.  I am beyond grateful for my rewarding clinical career.  Plus, I have a flexible, profitable business that runs on my own terms.  

 

Quickly, I realized that there aren't enough dentists treating patients at home.  I get calls to visit the homes of patients who live HOURS away.  I knew there COULD be enough dentists, if only they learned about the need, the flexibility of this field, and understood how to offer house calls.  I hadn't heard about this career option during dental school at all.    

​

I started the ResiDENTAL Movement to encourage, equip and empower dentists to offer in-home care because I am on a mission to make in-home dental home widely available.  Someday you or I might need in-home dental care, so let's create a world where a dental house call is completely unremarkable.   

​
